After graduating from the Beijing Arts and Crafts Vocational School in 1961. Wen Qiangang entered the Beijing Carved Lacquer-ware Factory as an artisan and he is now the general industrial artisan of the factory. Wen has been engaged in the design, production management of lacquer-ware carving for over 40 years, and received great acclaim. With superb taleand technical nt in design, painting, sculpture and design for interior and exterior décor, he has focused on the production of carving three-dimensional lacquer-Ware and the creation of specialized lacquer-ware. In 1999, he led a group to create the work "Joyous Moon", which was presented as a gift from Beijing People`s Government to Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region to Mark the Occasion of its return to the Motherland. His work "Jade Belt Bridge" won a prize for outstanding creations at the Second Chinese Arts and Crafts Fair of the 2001 China Hangzhou West Lake Expo. Another piece, "Thousand-Year First-Grade Wine Bottle" won the prize for excellent works at the First National Souvenir Design Competition in 2002. Works
