The Dawn Radiance Cantonese Opera Troupe

Founded in 2006, the Dawn Radiance Cantonese Opera Troupe is a professional organization that encompasses teaching and performance of Cantonese Opera. The cast is comprised of 12 experienced professional young artists. With this combination all stock roles of Sheng (male role), Dan (female role), Jing (painted faces) and Chou (comic role) can be fully casted and well-played. Being the Artistic Director of the Troupe, the renowned Cantonese Opera artist maestro Yuen Siu-fai aims to provide a development platform for the young artists. The Troupe has staged traditional repertories, which includes "The Orphan of the Chiu Family", "The Legend of the Golden Carp" and "The Old Marshal She Taijun", and are highly commended by the audience.

As individuals, these twelve artists are very much demanded and sought-after in Hong Kong’s opera industry, together as this Troupe they have performed over 40 shows for the past two years’ establishment, which include the 35th Hong Kong Arts Festival, the NT Tour presented by the Leisure & Culture Service Department, as well as a fund-raising performance for the Hong Kong Anti-cancer Society with over HK$2 million raised.
